Crafting Monday!

One of my coping methods that I have found for my depression and anxiety is crochet. I love to crochet, and I figured all of you would want to be updated on how my current projects are going. So every Monday I will be posting updates. I have made three crochet blankets in the past but this time, this one is for me. I wanted to try something new so I am making a puff flower blanket, meaning you crochet individual flowers and then piece them together into one blanket. So right now I only have one block done which is seven puff flowers sewn together. It's about the size of a small dinner plate. And I have realized how great a metaphor for life this blanket is! You can't just figure out life all at once, it has to be done one step at a time. And finding healing is the exact same way. Like this blanket it's going to take a while. I am super excited for this blanket and it's going to look awesome once it is done.

I am a college student at Brigham Young University trying to wade through this crazy thing we call life with my mental illness. I have decided to share my story of trying to deal with mental illness in the hopes that it may help others.
